VSF - Deutschland Überschuß Mars

The KRAP chassis has returned from the body shop.  After an initial scan by Mjr. Pita, Dr. Speer and Capt. Lindbergh it has been sent off to the paint shop for its unique Martian paint scheme.  Subsequent field trials were lackluster, the vehicle displaying a Save 9, Speed 11, Start 14, Sustain 15, and Spin 180 deg.   The prototype rocket is going to have to go back to the drawing board but as time is of the essence it will have to suffice (Small, Range 6″, SRM 0, Reload No).

It appears the rest of the Battalion has arrived but will not be presented on the parade ground until after Christmas.

The alien weapon has received an official designation by the Inspector General.  It has been called the Special Weapon Integrated Neutron Eliminator.  Characteristics on a closed weapons range has shown the following Range 48″, SRM -2, Shots 1, and Reload No.

Over Schnapps and Vodka the senior officers and members of the expedition have got to know each other.  Mjr. Pita (Hero, Dead-Eye, Slow, Shoot 17, Scuffle 14, Save 14) has explained how he has come to be using a cane.  It was while on vacation in America in the Southwest hunting  wild bears that he had the unfortunate experience of being surprised by a wounded prey.  The ferocious animal had hidden itself while he pursued it to finish it off but, he was ambushed when he passed its hidey-hole.  He managed to kill the beast but was severely mauled in the grappling that ensued.  He vowed to himself never to let anything escape his marksmanship again.  Through continuous practice he achieved the Dead eye skill.

Capt. Lindbergh (Leader, Strong, Shoot 10, Scuffle 12, Save 10) was interested in mechanical devices and took an interest in all modes of travel including conveyances.

Dr. Speer (Adventurer, Crack Shot, Shoot 12, Scuffle 16, Save 13) was and is a firm believer in healthy body healthy mind.  So while at university studying advanced particle physics and architecture he took up wrestling and  spent time in the Gun Club.  He has some natural ability and so developed the Crack shot ability.

Major Pita has arrived from Washington D.C. via Airship transport.  While in D.C. he was military attache to the German embassy.  His direct observations on how the Americans reacted to the Martian Invasion has firmed his opinions as to their inability to carry out alien extermination.  While in the U.S.A, he acquired a few training manuals, some of which purport to explain the various Martian technologies. The texts are called
G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. and G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. Battles .  In the meantime Major Pita has retired to his quarters to try on his new Martian Expeditionary uniform. Elsewhere in the top secret facility various components have arrived from advanced scientific laboratories including the K.R.A.P. vehicle chassis.

The Kaiser has approved the surreptious transfer of funds from the Reichsbank to fund the project.  Three scientists have been engaged;  Dr. Faust, Dr. Speer and the young Dr. Todt.  Each one brings the latest in scientific discovery and theory to the table.  The goal is to reach Mars and eliminate any further threat to the Fatherland.

All available Martian equipment and technology has been assembled.  Testing has already begun to determine the best method of conveyance to Mars.

A chassis has been appropriated from Kraft Repair and Armour Produktion facility.  Extensive modifications will be required to bring the vehicle to a standard that can manoever in the Martian wilderness.

 However; the number one priority determined by the Kaiser himself is the uniform!  Colours, fabric and facings have been left to the devices of Mr. Hugo Bose to create.
